Girl, 17, set upon by gang of five

A 17-year-old girl has been brutally attacked by a gang of five people while walking home after getting off a bus in Swan View.

A female approached her, followed by four others as she walked along Myles Road, heading towards Blackadder Road about 6.45pm on Monday.

The group, involving male and females, repeatedly punched and kicked her, knocking her to the ground and stealing her wallet.

Police say the teenager was able to make her way home, where she collapsed.

The girl was taken to Swan District Hospital and is said to have sustained minor injuries.

Police are seeking help from members of the public who may have witnessed the incident, it has been reported that cars were in the vicinity at the time.
