A man was seriously injured when he crashed his red Holden Commodore into a tree in Carabooda, north of Perth.

Media spokeswoman Susan Usher said the car was travelling along Carabooda Road went it left the road and collided with the tree at 1.30am on Sunday.

The 34-year-old  driver received serious injuries and was flown to Royal Perth Hospital by the RAC Rescue helicopter.

Anyone who saw the crash or the Commodore prior to the crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
