Four charged after drugs found in car searches

Four men have been charged after police car searches led to a search of premises in the city.

A 22-year-old East Perth man will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court after a vehicle stop on Friday night.

Police say that around 7:35pm, traffic officers conducted a traffic stop on a Mercedes Benz on Belmont Avenue in Belmont.

They say a passenger in the vehicle tried to conceal a bag of white powder, and a search uncovered about 3.5gm of white powder - believed to be cocaine - and a sum of cash.

Detectives then executed a search warrant on a unit in Adelaide Terrace in East Perth, where they found and seized an amount of cocaine, MDMA and cash.

The man has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, possessing unlawfully obtained property, and possessing a prohibited drug.

In a separate incident in the same area, Regional Operations Group officers saw a Holden Commodore driving erratically along Wright Street in Cloverdale just before 2am.

Police lost sight of the vehicle but later found it parked in Nanine Place in Rivervale with two male occupants.

It will be alleged that during a search of the vehicle police found and seized about 15gm of crystal material believed to be methylamphetamine and two handguns.

Further inquiries by Armadale detectives resulted in a search warrant being executed on a premises in Adelaide Terrace, Perth, where drug items were located and seized.

A 28-year-old Wanneroo man will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with possessing a prohibited drug to sell or supply, possessing a prohibited drug, possessing drug paraphernalia, and breaching bail.

An 18-year-old Viveash man has been charged with failing to stop for police, possessing a prohibited drug to sell or supply, possessing drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm, and ready access to drugs and firearms.​

A 26-year-old Gosnells man has been charged with possessing a prohibited weapon.

Both men will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on 19 January 2016.
