A man driving an allegedly stolen motorcycle with a false number plate has been arrested after trying to lose police on Thursday night.
Police spotted the motorcycle on Gorman Street in Greenwood but after the motorcyclist drove into Cockman Park, they were prevented from tailing it further because of bollards.
The motorcyclist was then spotted on Jeffers Street running from the motorcycle which was lying in the middle of the road, police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.
Police dog Hector was called in and tracked the man through Cockman Park to Dargin Place, where he found the man hiding behind a set of bins.
After police arrested the man, they discovered he had allegedly stolen the motorcycle on July 2 at knife-point.
The man, of no fixed address, has been charged with a total of 11 driving and stealing offences and is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.
