Three men have died in Morley after their car crashed into a tree after losing control.

The men were in a blue Commodore travelling east on Morley Drive when it lost control and hit a tree near Crimea Street about midnight.

The 43-year-old driver from Morley and two passengers, a 34-year-old from Singleton and 31-year-old from Dianella, died at the scene, which police described as "horrific".

Police said on Saturday speed was being investigated as a possible factor and major crash were investigating the incident.

Morley Drive is currently closed in both directions between Camboon Road and Emberson Road and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle prior to the crash is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
