Two people died in separate car crashes across the state last night.

The fatalities come just a day after a horror crash near Southern Cross that killed three drivers and left 10  people injured, some critically.

Sergeant Gerry Cassidy said a fatal crash in Toodyay involving a Mitsubishi Triton ute and a Honda Civic sedan happened on Toodyay Road about 6.20pm.

"The Triton crossed to the incorrect side of the road and rolled," he said.

Sergeant Cassidy said the other vehicle heading in the opposite direction attempted to avoid the collision but the two vehicles still collided.

A 52-year-old female passenger in the Honda Civic died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash and a 53-year-old male driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

A 43-year-old female driver and two children who were in the utility received minor injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.

A 28-year-old man also died in a vehicle rollover, which happened about 5pm near Cue in the Mid-West yesterday.

Sergeant Cassidy said it appeared the man's vehicle had drifted off the road. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was not believed to have been wearing a seatbelt.
