A student has reportedly opened fire in a US high school before turning the trigger on himself.
The male died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after injuring two people at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado.
"The suspect has been found inside the school and he has deceased as a result of what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound," Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said.

He said the student had apparently targeted a teacher at the school.
"The student identified a specific teacher at the high school that he was interested in confronting, and that teacher was informed of the situation and exited the school quickly," he said.
One student was shot and taken to hospital in a serious condition. A second student suffered minor injuries. It is not known if the second student was shot.

There was not believed to have been any shooting between the shooter and police.
The gunman has been identified and authorities were in contact with his family, Robinson said.
Live television pictures showed orderly groups of students filing out with hands above their heads, to gather on an athletics track on the the edge of a snow-covered field next to the school. The school has more than 2200 students and 70 classrooms.
The shooting happened one day before the anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in which 26 people were killed in Connecticut.
State division of emergency management spokeswoman Micki Trost says police were responding to a report of a shooting at a high school in suburban Denver.
The school is near Columbine High School in Littleton, where two teenage shooters killed 12 classmates and a teacher before killing themselves in 1999 and only a few kilometres from the site of last year’s Aurora movie theatre shooting.
