A three-year-old child was filmed hanging off a fifth-floor balcony for over a minute while his mother was asleep inside the apartment.
A large crowd of people gathered beneath the building in the Brazilian town Vila Velha. Many recorded the event and some were screaming and crying.
The increasingly loud sounds of distress alerted local waiter Bruno Teixeira, who can be seen rescuing the child at the end of the video.

"When we saw the boy hanging we ran without looking. When we arrived at the apartment the room door was open and the balcony was closed," Mr Teixeira told local reporters, adding the boy's mother was asleep. "She should be more responsible with her son's life."
It's believed the child may have climbed into the precarious position via a chair near the balcony ledge.
This is the second video in the last month of a toddler in trouble above concerned crowds, with millions watching a video of a man successfully catching a falling two year old in China in late May.
