Report slams NDIS wait times, poor communication
A new report by the Commonwealth Ombudsman's office has revealed they recieved 400 complaints over two years up to January 2018. The report found it can take up to nine months to complete a review of an NDIS case, outlining concerns held by participants and the risks associated with delays. Sally Whyte has the details.
Former candidate opens up about mental illness
Steven Bailey was struck by how many disaffected and depressed young men he encountered while door-knocking during the 2016 ACT election campaign.

Unions threaten action over pay offers
It's been 18 months, and still no resolution in negotiations for new workplace deals covering ACT government staff.
The Health Services Union has applied to begin industrial action at Fair Work after the territory government's latest pay offer, which the union says would not meet rises in the cost of living.
Doug Dingwall spoke to HSU official Gerard Hayes, who said action was a "very live possibility".
Student calls for more support for eye disease
When 21-year-old Canberra student Grace Bramwell started treatment for a genetic degenerative eye disease, she felt frustrated, realising it was possible her condition could have been picked up earlier.
Diagnosed with keratoconus in February, she was told surgery was the only option available to prevent further vision deterioration.
She says the community and some medical professionals have a long way to go to fully understand the condition. Read Daniella White's story here.
