It is not necessary to make a determination about comparative wickedness before wondering what the different Australian approaches to the cases of Australian nationals held at Guantanamo Bay and those held in an Indonesian prison say about the United States, Indonesia, Australia, Australian governments and us. But it is hard to think that any such wondering would make us entirely comfortable.
