Data Laboratory Lead Queensland Health (Organisation site) Research Unit, Townsville University Hospital An exciting temporary employment opportunity for up to two years is available within the Research Unit at Townsville University Hospital for the newly established Data Laboratory Lead role. This role will lead the Data Laboratory within the Townsville University Hospital and identify, analyse, develop, and implement data-driven solutions for quality improvement and research initiatives across Townsville Hospital and Health Service. We cover the continuum of healthcare services from advanced, highly specialised, tertiary-level healthcare at the main hospital to secondary and primary-level hospital and community healthcare across 20 facilities. The main facility is located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University. Role requirements Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be highly regarded. Experience with data engineering methodologies and tools would be viewed favourably. Experience with CHRISP-DM, Team Data Science Process (TDSP) or other data science methodologies would be viewed favourably. Research experience would be viewed favourably. The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Experience in performing business or data analysis activities within IM/ICT program/project(s), preferably in the health care industry. Experience in data mining and knowledge discovery methodologies and experience in data engineering. Knowledge in, and an ability to provide specialist authoritative counsel, advice and recommendations on, the application of appropriate data science techniques, methodologies and tools. Proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders. Proven negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a project environment. Proven ability to provide active leadership and collaborate across multiple health teams with internal and external stakeholders to support effective business change and deliver data-driven solutions, including experience in supervising, mentoring or managing. Proven ability to contribute to complex strategic planning and application across multiple speciality areas and multiple service sites would be desirable.
