Introduction
Hays is proud to partner with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) in preparation for the next Federal Election.

About The Position
The role will be based at the Out-posted Centre (OPC), a warehouse which is used as the centre of electoral activities for the AEC for the duration of the election period. The OPC is where election materials are receipted, prepared, processed, stored and dispatched, as well as the location where all ballot papers are counted, and other major activities occur. The roles will commence on a casual basis, where the work roster will include weekend work and/or period of overtime

Position Duties:

  • Liaising with Site Manager to ensure smooth operation
  • Administer processes to receipt and manage the distribution of ballot papers and election material
  • Adhere to legislative policies and deadlines
  • Coordinate Dispatch and receival with elected logistics company
  • Take a leadership role during polling weekends: oversee casual workforce provide technical support, work instructions and briefings
  • Record movement of election materials
  • Ensure Compliance with WHS requirements
  • Assure procedures and reports are in line with all current policies

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous Project Management experience required
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Commitment to provide a safe working environment and be able to implement WHS principles
  • Ability to make informed decisions
  • Computer Proficient- Advanced Microsoft
  • Have or be willing to obtain First Aid Certificate

Eligibility
Due to the nature of this role, to be eligible for this position applicants must:
- be an Australian Citizen
- be able to obtain and maintain a Police Check
- be able to sign a Political Neutrality Statement
- be able to provide contact details of two referees, including a current supervisor.
