Your new company
Hays is proud to partner with this federal agency for their upcoming bulk recruitment requirements. This agency is responsible for conducting elections, maintaining the Commonwealth electoral roll, and providing a range of electoral information to the Australian public.

Your new role
The Project Officer supports the administration of matters relating to corporate, governance and election readiness functions. The Project Officer contributes to the administration of specific projects relating to the conduct of an Electoral Event.

The role is responsible for undertaking work that is moderately complex in nature, under general direction, utilising functional expertise to support the delivery of corporate, compliance and governance functions, election events and project outcomes.

This position is an agile position and during the election cycle will be required to contribute to the delivery of different projects as directed by management.

Key position responsibilities

Project responsibilities
• Assist with the planning, scheduling and completion of components of projects.
• Check project progress including monitoring schedules, and checking budget data.
• Accurately record project expenditure and resource allocation.
• Conduct research and analysis, providing reports and conclusions on findings and assist in the drafting of policy and delivery of projects.
Corporate and governance responsibilities
• Support the delivery of administrative, financial and human resource functions in the work area.
• Receive and receipt payments of funds in relation to projects or wider programs.
• Provide broad administrative support to specific projects such as records management tasks.
• Support the procurement processes of the work area including using templates to initiate procurement, and reporting activities.
• Prepare minutes of meetings and/or committees, boards or other project and program for a and provide general administrative support for secretariat work within a project.
• Under supervision, undertake asset and property management functions.

What you'll need to succeed

• Sharepoint experience
• Knowledge and experience in successfully completing allocated tasks and delivering quality results.
• Ability to prepare written work that is well constructed and adapted to the needs of the audience.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst liaising with stakeholders and assisting to resolve issues across a geographically dispersed network.
• Ability to conduct analysis and research and report on findings with the ability to contribute new ideas and identify opportunities for business efficiency improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor staff, encouraging team improvement and promoting professionalism.
• Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters.
• A demonstrated proficiency with computer based project tools (e.g. Microsoft product suite of Sharepoint, Project, Excel and PowerPoint).

Other Essential Requirements
• Character clearance, including a police check
