About Our Client

My client are a top tier university, globally recognised. They have a best in class Finance Business Partnering function and this role will play an integral part in supporting that team for the next 6 months.

Job Description

As Finance Analyst you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Business Partner during quarterly forecast and annual budget process.
  • Draft and present reports resulting from process review of functional activities and ad hoc requirements which involves coordinating materials and interpreting data
  • Support the preparation of monthly reports and assist with the interpretation of financial performance, summarising and highlighting key matters.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the classification level as directed from time to time.
  • Provide complex data analysis across various functional areas across the Chancellery Division
  • Contribute to and identify financial process improvements to capture financial information, automate and streamline reporting as required and address the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders within the Chancellery Division to deliver improved reporting functionality.
  • Contribute to other projects as required from time-to-time that seek to improve local business processes and systems.
  • Update and reconcile monthly reporting models across the Division.
  • Prepare and upload salary and ADI journals as required.
  • Provide Hyperion data entry support during forecasting and budgeting and workforce planning preparation.

The Successful Applicant

The successful finance analyst will have:

  • CPA/CA qualified or working towards achieving certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the principles and practices of reporting and data analysis, including data quality analysis, data visualisation, and performance metrics, and the ability to investigate and provide options to improve data reporting.
  • Advanced skills in the use of reporting and database enquiry tools (Microstrategy, Power BI, GL Wand, SQL or similar), including the ability to export data in other forms for analysis, and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft and relevant programs, e.g. MS Office suite including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Visio.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain and display information in understandable and digestible formats, and in compelling tables and graphics.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret and implement requirements and guidelines regarding reporting and systems.
  • Demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative with solid analytical and problem solving and skills.
  • Excellent organisational, and time management skills; including the ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet critical deadlines within an environment with changing and competing demands.
