AECOM’s Resources and Industrial Business have exciting opportunities for an Electrical Engineer to join our well respected and highly talented Mackay team.

Mackay is a regional city best known as Australia's sugar capital, but the northern Queensland hot spot is also in close proximity to the beautiful Whitsunday Islands and is home to 31 amazing beaches, the blue water Pioneer River, Eungella rainforest and more, making it an ideal location to raise a family and genuinely enjoy the great outdoors.

As a respected Senior Electrical Engineer in our Mackay office this role will enable you to utilise your strong technical skills and knowledge, across a vast array of projects whilst simultaneously developing your experience with our multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled professionals. You will be supported by the Mackay team in gaining more experience, responsibility and client contact.

If you have experience in electrical systems (ranging from HV, LV, process instrumentation, lighting, motor control, vendor package integration) then this rare opportunity will be more than suited to your background and skillset.

Senior Electrical Engineers at AECOM find themselves involved in all phases of projects from feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement assistance, with the possibility of site construction and commissioning roles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree

  • Proven engineering/design experience (circa 5-10 years) within Mining, Local Government or heavy Industrial sectors

  • Exposure to or experience in the design and specification of industrial systems such as HV/LV distribution, controls and communications, safety systems and motor controls

  • Knowledge or prior experience in the use of popular design packages, such as PowerCAD, PowerTools for Windows and AutoCAD

  • Experience in the design and modelling of HV and LV systems is desirable

  • Proficient in producing engineering documentation such as technical specifications, datasheets, reports and scope of works

  • Possess current knowledge of the relevant industry standards and the application in compliant designs

  • Excellent verbal and communications skills, a team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally holds CPEng and/or RPEQ (or working towards obtaining)
