Early Childhood Teacher

We are looking for an energised Early Childhood Teacher to join the educative team at Goodstart Tweed Heads. As the Teacher you will deliver high quality and inclusive learning programs using contemporary teaching theories, strategies and styles, knowledge of child development and alignment to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS).
About our Centre
- Goodstart Tweed Heads an innovative service delivering education and care to children aged 6 weeks to 6 years of age. Our close proximity to the M1, provides a seamless route to the centre and local schools, making the drop offs and pickups a smooth transition when you are on your way to work, study and home.
- Tweed Heads is a 79 place centre
- Our fully air-conditioned centre offers 5 rooms, for children to begin their education journey. Our 2 Nursery rooms are designed for children 6 weeks to 2 years to explore and discover through an interactive nurturing and safe environment.
- Supportive and friendly team
- Part time or full time position – 4 days a week or 5 days a week, whichever you prefer – fixed term contract until May 2023
Role Overview/ Responsibilities
- This position will be based in the Pre-School 1 room – 3-4 years
- Lead and model the selection and implementation of effective pedagogical approaches to support children’s learning and development outcomes.
- Design and implement engaging learning programs using knowledge of content, curriculum, children’s needs, assessment and reporting requirements.
- Champion positive and meaningful relationships with children.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, evaluate and enhance learning outcomes for children.
- Develop engaging and inclusive learning environments that reflect the strengths, interests and needs of all children.
- Develop, select and use a range of informal, formal, diagnostic, formative and summative assessment strategies to assess children’s learning and maintain high quality pedagogical documentation.
- Establish and maintain respectful collaborative partnerships with families to assess and support children’s learning and wellbeing.
- Maintain a safe environment for children, families and team members.
- Contribute to a professional and positive work culture
About You
- Hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved) or someone who is a Diploma and is 50% of the way through their ECT qualification
- Hold a current First Aid qualification
- Hold a valid WWCC
- Hold an up to date Professional Teachers Accreditation (state applicable)
