Cleared ICT are looking for a Wintel Engineer for a project within defence.
To be applicable for this role you must have a AGSVA NV2 clearance.
Overview of proposed project:
The Directorate of Strategic Communications Sustainment (DSCS), within the Defence Strategic Communications Branch (DSCB) provides engineering support, technical assurance and project advice services in support of the branch's engineering activities, Transition into Service (TiS) and Transition of Support Responsibilities (TSR
One such ICT product sustained by DSCS is the Unified Secret Gateway (USG), which provides critical communication capability with international coalition partners and various Australian government agencies. While the USG has been built with resilience, Defence requires a Disaster Recovery (DR) site and robust DR Capability. There are also a range of ongoing remediation activities for the USG Gate which are related to the DR Capability
Experience or qualification across Gateway Services, including email, web, voice, chat and video (a mix of skills across multiple personnel to ensure coverage across these services will be acceptable);
Prior technical Gateway experience, preferably within Defence, however, experience with other similar sized organisations is acceptable;
Technical writing experience for complex ICT capability projects;
Network engineering experience;
Systems engineering experience;
Experience or qualification across Aruba, Windows servers, Red Hat Enterprise Linux compute and storage, Bluecoat, Oracle Unified Communications, PKI/certificates/HSM, F5 Firewalls, VMware and HP Hyper Converged computing (a mix of skills across multiple personnel to ensure coverage across these services will be acceptable);
WINTEL compute and storage experience; and
Large scale backup / Disaster recovery experience;
Engineering background in any ITC engineering discipline;
Information technology Information Library (ITIL) Foundation or practitioner study of ITIL methodology;
Knowledge or experience of through life support of IT;
Understanding of CIOG's Technical Assurance Framework; and
Understanding of Defence's strategic network architecture and information systems security (one or more of accreditation, anti-virus, firewalls, security enclave segregation, vulnerability identification, cryptographic requirements);
Rate $900-1000 depending on experience.
Contract length x 6 months followed by 2 x 12 month contracts.
