Road Test

This week I try … a mini oxygen facial

The lowdown I'm off to a function this evening, so perky-looking skin is in order. I am propped up on a high chair at the Elizabeth Arden counter in Myer for a quick pickme-up with a mini oxygen facial.

Hey, if a facial oxygen shot is good enough for Victoria's Secret models before they strut the runway, it's good enough for me.First up, my skin is cleansed with Prevage Anti-aging Treatment Boosting Cleanser before we work out what oxygen mix my skin needs. I opt for the Hydrating Mist, which is a serum containing aloe and sodium PCA combined with stabilised oxygen for an instant hydration hit. (There are three other mixtures – Detoxifying Mist, Brightening Mist and Lifting Mist.) The final step: the Prevage City Smart with sunscreens.

Trend: Hair Care

Winter takes a toll on our hair, especially in terms of dryness and static build-up, so a weekly 10-minute treatment with a hydrating hair mask is a must. Those with deeply damaged hair should swap conditioner for a mask for a few washes to give hair a boost. I love the idea; now I just need to adopt my own advice.

Narciso Rodriguez's latest fragrance smells as good as it looks, the dashing tomato redness of the flask matching the scent's intoxicating heart of musk in a bed of Bulgarian rose, iris, tonka and vetiver – seriously yummy. Narciso Rouge (50ml), $127, davidjones.com.au.

Ask Stephanie

What is the most effective permanent hair-removal option for fair-haired people? This is certainly a vexed question and to date there have been no real breakthroughs. Some say long-pulse laser (try instantlaserclinic.com.au) offers a better result on fair hair, but outcomes vary depending on the individual. So, basically, the quest continues.
