Camilla Franks shares powerful images during breast cancer battle

Camilla Franks has posed for a series of powerful images with her baby daughter and fiancé, two months after announcing her breast cancer diagnosis.

The Australian designer, best known for her vibrant kaftans, posted a series of nine pictures to her Instagram account, capturing moments with her fiancé, Welsh musician JP Jones, and daughter, Luna Gypsy.

She captioned an image of the three together: "My strength behind me. Our future in front. With me always. The colour, the music and the moon."

The pictures were captured by photographer Georges Antoni at a recent photoshoot in Sydney.

In a statement, Camilla CEO Jane McNally said, “Our amazing Camilla is responding well to treatment and wanted to capture where she is on her personal path fighting cancer. The strength and authenticity evident in these images is what we always see when she comes into the office.”

McNally added that Franks and Jones were "incredibly grateful for the love and kindness shown to them throughout this time".

In a statement, Franks' representative said the designer had shaved her head at the beginning of her treatment "as her way of taking some control over this journey".

Franks, 42, announced her breast cancer diagnosis in May, three months after giving birth to her first child.

“I start on this journey humble but resilient; I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared but I am fearlessly determined to do whatever it takes by focusing on my body, mind and spirit as I take my first trusting steps towards recovery," Franks said in a note to her staff at the time.

She made an emotional appearance at her closing show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney the following week.
