At this year’s show, a range of cute and cuddly coloured ActewAGL plush pigs will be on sale for $5 each – with every cent raised going to Care Inc to continue its community support
programs.

Care Inc, which helps low-income consumers overcome debt, was this week announced as this year’s ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show charity partner.

ActewAGL spokeswoman Michelle Rowe said it was not a new connection.

"We have a strong relationship with Care, which delivers energy literacy workshops, provides financial counselling and has issued a total of $200,000 in energy support vouchers to ActewAGL customers,” she said.

Care Inc chief executive officer Carmel Franklin said it responded to almost 2000 requests for assistance each year.

"The funds raised at the show will make a difference to those we are working with to improve their financial situation," she said.

The Royal Canberra Show is from Friday, February 22 to Sunday, February 24, at Exhibition Park in Canberra.
