The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, told NSW Lotteries authorities she was in shock when they called her with the news on Wednesday afternoon.

"I didn’t think this sort of thing happened in real life,” she said, according to the lottery authorities.

“My mother had mentioned to me the other day that there was an unclaimed ticket from the newsagency where I had bought my entry. And I thought, ‘I haven’t checked mine yet, imagine that.’

“I can’t believe it is actually me."

The woman was one of 17 division one winners in Saturday's draw. Each took home $1,764,705.89.

She is one of two people in the ACT region to share in the division one win. A Queanbeyan man plans to retire immediately after also getting the winning numbers.

The Kambah woman said the Lotto win was a game-changer for her family.

“We have a big family and we’ve been a bit stressed about money so it will be amazing to pay off the mortgage and pay some bills,” she reportedly said.

“I haven’t thought beyond that though. This is very unexpected and will certainly change our plans for the year."

Meanwhile, a Mawson man is planning an early retirement after winning $100,000 in a Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw on Wednesday.

“I am very surprised. You caught me with my pants down, so to speak – it is completely unexpected," lottery authorities said he said.

“I have been playing Lucky Lotteries for 24 years. The most I have ever won is about $400! So this is certainly new territory for me.

“I am going to put it towards my retirement. It will mean I can retire sooner than I planned."
