The ActewAGL electricity and gas networks business will be rebranded Evoenergy from January next year.
Evoenergy will manage the electricity network in the ACT and the gas network in the ACT, Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Bungendore and Nowra after the Australian Energy Regulator introduced new naming guidelines last November.
ActewAGL will continue as the retail brand, selling electricity and gas and looking after billing and customer enquiries.
The Australian Energy Regulator's Ring-Fencing Guideline was introduced partly to help avoid customer confusion over the retail and infrastructure arms of ActewAGL.
In a statement, the company said: "This name reflects the fast changing energy sector.
"Our national energy system is on a rapid path of evolution thanks to disruptive technology and our goal of enjoying a low-emissions future. Evoenergy is part of this exciting trajectory."
