The beautifully illustrated book features 100 animals and the collective noun for each, including a flamboyance of flamingoes, smack of jellyfish, parliament of owls, mess of iguanas and wisdom of wombats.

The book - and Hobart-based Jennifer - reached mainstream America when Anne Hathaway appeared on the hit talk show Ellen last month.

Hathaway's young son had been given a copy of 101 Collective Nouns and she had wanted to also give host Ellen Degeneres a copy of the "so beautiful'' book but couldn't track one down.

"So if you live in Tasmania, and you know someone named Jennifer Skelly — she's an illustrator and author and she wrote a book called A Compendium of Collective Nouns — tell her that Anne Hathaway is looking for a copy for Ellen DeGeneres," she said, on the show.

Jennifer, formerly Jennifer Skelly, promptly sent signed copies of the book to both Hathaway and DeGeneres.

And orders of the book went crazy. The busiest week ever for the small business.

So it's a win for book lovers in the national capital that Jennifer is a stallholder at the next Handmade Canberra markets on July 28 and 29 at Exhibition Park in Canberra.

The markets' founder Julie Nichols had booked Jennifer even before the whole Ellen-episode-craziness.

"We absolutely love bringing the best we can find to Canberra's doorstep and we know Canberrans can't wait to meet one of Anne Hathaway's favourites in person,'' Julie said.

"We're so glad we snagged Jennifer for our July market before she hit the big time."

Jennifer will be selling products under her Red Parka label, including other books and everything from tea towels, tote bags and magnets, at the markets. She will also be signing copies of her books.

And in the lead-up to the markets, Handmade Canberra is giving away five signed copies of the book via its Facebook page.
