Canberra is becoming the next Hollywood - maybe! - with the director of the new sci fi film Blue World Order already planning his next movie to be made in the national capital.

Blue World Order, a sci fi film starring Billy Zane and Jack Thompson - and with a cameo from our own Chief Minister Andrew Barr - is now showing at Dendy Cinemas in Canberra. It opened on Thursday for a week-long season.
Director Che Baker made the film in and around the ACT with Telstra Tower and Lake George making some stunning appearances.
Baker is already looking to produce a second film in the ACT, with the option to make a movie version of the Matthew Reilly thriller Contest.
Reilly was also an executive producer of Blue World Order.
If he proceeds, Baker plans to make the most of Canberra's networks with Wellington in New Zealand.
"We're in discussions with Weta Workshop,'' he said, referring to the Wellington-based special effects company that has worked on projects from The Lord of the Rings to Mad Max Fury Road.
His hope was for Contest to be filmed in Canberra.
But first to enjoy the cinema release of Blue World Order.
"We've had a lot of great feedback,'' he said.
