Canberra Airport's Bunnings Warehouse opens its doors

Bunnings Warehouse at Canberra Airport has opened its doors to the public.

The $42 million store is the fifth one to open in Canberra. The franchise already has a store in nearby Fyshwick, as well as Gungahlin, Belconnen and Tuggeranong. Bunnings has a total of 326 stores across Australia.

Bunnings employed 180 people, of that 140 new team members while 40 were relocated from other stores.

Capital Airport Group's managing director Stephen Byron said the group was thrilled to welcome Bunnings to the Majura Park Shopping centre.

"It’s been such a great experience working so closely with one of Australia’s largest corporations," Mr Byron said.

"The pre-opening interest in the new store has been very positive and we look forward to the continued success of Bunnings at Canberra Airport."

The store opened on Monday with the opening celebrations starting on the weekend.

Bunnings Warehouse Canberra Airport is located at 971 Majura Rd, Majura Park, ACT 2609.
