For those of you who spent all winter counting down the days until summer - your hibernation might be over faster than you thought.
Today is likely to reach a balmy top of 29 degrees, ahead of a sizzling run of 30 plus days to carry us through the week.
While you're dusting off your shorts from last season (or praying to the gods of super-strength sunscreen if you're anything like me), here's today's headlines:
Haussegger named ACT Australian of the Year
Canberra, meet your Australian of the Year.
Former ABC broadcaster and gender equality advocate Virginia Haussegger received the state-level honour overnight, from an all-female line-up of nominees.
And she admits she was completely dumbstruck.
I have more from last night's award ceremony here.
Yet another resignation at ACT Health
Well it's shaping up to be a pretty dismal turn out at the ACT Health Christmas party...
Chief medical officer Jeffrey Fletcher has now quit - the latest in a string of high-profile departures at ACT Health, including the resignation of director general Nicole Feely in March and the CEO designate of Canberra Health Services Janet Anderson just days after she was appointed in August.
Our health reporter Daniella White has the story.
Canberra clubs reject push to axe penalty rates
It's not every day we hear employers arguing to keep penalty rates.
But some Canberra clubs have rejected a campaign by their national representative body to reduce weekend penalty rates for their staff.
Sally Whyte found out why.
Summer arrives early in Canberra
Remember that run of hot days I mentioned? Well they're likely to actually smash some records.
On Thursday and Friday, the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a top of 33 degrees in the capital, our warmest days since March 18.
It will also mark the hottest temperature recorded at this time of year since the bureau started taking observations at Canberra Airport in 2007.
Dan Jervis-Bardy has the story here.
Valetini bolts onto Wallabies spring tour
And in sport...
ACT Brumbies back-rower Rob Valetini thought he'd be spending November at home after two recent knee surgeries.
Instead, despite having only played three Super Rugby games, he's been called up the Wallabies squad in Japan ahead of their spring tour.
Eamonn Tierman and Georgina Robinson have the details.
