Happy Friday! We made it this far and just one day of work until a long weekend for many of us.
After a few cooler days, we're heading for a sunny top of 29 today, followed by 27 and showers tomorrow, 31 on Sunday and 29 on Monday. But before we start planning our weekends, let's look at what's making news today.
Dickson Towers building to become offices in $30 million development
What do you do with heritage-listed former public housing? Turn it into offices and apartments, of course.
Under new plans lodged by Johnny Roso's Art Group, the former public-housing block will become commercial office space as part of the $30.2 million development.
It would see 143 units built on the site at the corner of Morphett Street and Northbourne Avenue.

Light rail likely to go east around Parliament House to get to Woden
Stage one of light rail is tantalisingly close, so now attention is once again on stage two, and just where it will go between Civic and Woden.
It looks likely to use the east side of State Circle, Transport Minister Meegan Fitzharris has said, conceding the "Barton dogleg" will likely be ditched.
Cabinet is yet to make a formal decision on dropping the dogleg, however Ms Fitzharris said the government did "now view a more direct route as the most likely route to Woden".

Senior public servant pay rise is too much: Labor MLA
There's nothing like the salaries of bureaucrats and politicians to get people hot under the collar, but this time it's a politician sounding off about how much the public servants get paid.
Labor backbencher Bec Cody says the 4.7 per cent pay rise announced for senior public servants this week is too much and she is outraged.
I have the rest of that story here.
‘Largest dog in the world’ to star at Canberra Balloon Spectacular
It's a bird, it's a plane ... it's a beagle?
That's right, one of the more unusual hot air balloons you can see as part of this year's Canberra Balloon Spectacular is "Beagle Maximus," who is... what it says in the name really, a giant beagle.
The balloon spectacular starts this Saturday and goes until next Sunday so get rugged up early one morning and get along.

Bec Goddard says elite sport's 'culture has to change'
How many people have coached premiership teams in two different sports? I actually don't know, but I am still absolutely in awe of Bec Goddard and will listen to anything she says.
The first-ever AFLW premiership coach and, more recently, the successful assistant coach at the Canberra Capitals says she feels there is more scrutiny on women in coaching roles than on men in similar roles.
"I want to be able to make it really difficult for the sporting industry to say ‘no’ to me as a coach," Goddard said at Sport Australia's launch of talent programs aimed at increasing the number of female executives and coaches in elite sport.
"We can keep doing these great courses and networking with these amazing women, but at some point culture is going to have to change."
Caden Helmers has the rest of Bec's comments here.
