We're heading for a partly cloudy top of 13 degrees today, with no rain looking likely.
Let's have a look at what's making news this morning.
'Always on the go': Tributes for 4-year-old killed in highway crash
Some sad news to start the day - it's been confirmed four-year-old Blake Corney was the person killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the Monaro Highway on Saturday morning.
He's been remembered as a delight to play with - especially when it came to his toy trains.
"He knew them all by heart and had many wonderful adventures pushing them along the tracks," Blake's aunty Christine Heard said.
Blake Foden has the story here.
Malcolm Turnbull's chief of staff named as new APS commissioner
John Lloyd's replacement has been announced, with former diplomat Peter Woolcott to take over the job on August 9.
Mr Woolcott has been Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's chief of staff for the past year, and has served in many positions at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Mr Woolcott will take over the Australian Public Service Commission with a reputation as one of Australia's most experienced and credentialled diplomats, with three decades of experience.

A Canberra connection to some of Australia's top tinnies
A former Canberra concreter is now one of Australia's top beer brewers.
Scott Hargrave can remember the first time he smelt a mash, that bubbling combination of grain and water that’s the very essence of beer - a turning point that has taken him from the capital to the Balter Brewing Company on the Gold Coast.
Karen Hardy has the story here, and the great tinnie taste is in today's Good Food.
ACT plans to introduce free universal childcare for three-year-olds
The ACT government will introduce free, universal childcare for three-year-olds as part of its new strategy on early childhood education.
The government aims to offer 15 hours a week free to parents, but the details are yet to be ironed out.
Right now, only four-year-olds receive pre-school funding in the ACT, where childcare prices are the highest in the country.

Sia Soliola says the Raiders have let Ricky Stuart down
Dejected Canberra Raiders veteran Sia Soliola says the playing group has let Ricky Stuart down as they stare down the barrel of missing the finals for the fifth time in six years.
After this weekend's loss, the Raiders must win every game and hope the eighth-placed New Zealand Warriors win no more than two matches in order to make the finals.
"It’s not just him, [we've let down] the whole community. If you look at the scope of how our season has gone, a lot of things that didn’t really go our way were the things we could have controlled," Soliola said.
