ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr will meet with the head of the newly formed Australian Space Agency Megan Clark to discuss Canberra as a potential long-term home for the agency.

The Australian Space Agency was announced during the federal budget earlier this year and will be housed in Canberra with the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science during its first 12 months.
Dr Clark has started to meet with representatives from each state and territory to inform her advice to the government on a long-term solution to locating the agency.
An ACT government spokesman said the territory would be happy to have further discussions with the agency in regards to land usage for the agency long-term in the territory.
The spokesman said the government would continue to engage with the agency and space industry stakeholders in the region to demonstrate the capital is the logical long-term home for the agency.
Dr Clark told the ABC in May she believed Canberra was best suited to house the agency. She is due to give her recommendation to government by the end of the year.
The ACT government will also work with the Northern Territory and South Australia to see how the three jurisdictions could assist the agency, the ACT government spokesman said.
It was recently announced the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is planning to build a defence and space industry hub just outside the ACT.
