The Victorian Comanchero commander, and alleged acting national president while Mick Murray was in jail, was on Friday sentenced in to 10 months for his part in melee at the Canberra Men’s Club last year.

Topal, 28, is the fourth Comanchero – along with Paea Talakai, 27, Nuulua Sooa Levi, 55, and Peniamina Elia, 34 - serving time at Canberra jail over the brawl.

Comanchero members from across the country travelled to Canberra in August for the club's 2017 memorial run.

Many of the bikies had gathered at the Fyshwick strip club, on August 20, when the violent brawl erupted about 3am.

CCTV footage showed the fight started after an argument between a small group of men in the smokers area.

The altercation then moves into the public section of the club, where Topal attacks a man, punching him to the ground.

Topal then smashes a glass on his head, causing a cut, removes his shirt, and again attacks the now unconscious man as he lays defenceless on the ground.

The man later regains consciousness, and, heavily concussed, is stumbling through the club, when Topal lands another series of punches to his head.

Topal pleaded guilty in the ACT Magistrates Court to a charge of affray.

Prosecutor Patrick Dixon, in submissions, said the extreme, prolonged and gratuitous violence placed the offence in the most serious category.

Mr Dixon conceded Topal had not started the brawl, however, had been a willing participant for an extended period, had multiple opportunities to disengage, including being held back, but chose to reengage.

The prosecutor said the incident had occurred in a place open to the public and staff at the club had every right to feel safe in their workplace.

The defence said Topal acknowledged he had acted in an inappropriate and inexcusable way.

The court heard he had a degree and certificates in health and fitness, had owned a gym, a strong employment history, worked as a model, and had strong family support.

The defence said he had completed a course in anger management.

Special Magistrate Ken Cush sentenced Topal to 10 months jail, to be suspended after serving five months upon entering a one year good behaviour order.

Topal will be released from custody in April.

In handing down sentence, Mr Cush found Topal had good employment prospects and urged him to consider his future and quit the gang.
