Drivers are being warned to expect traffic delays as the duplication of Ashley Drive nears completion.
Major construction work on the road is complete, with the traffic lights at Statton Street and Bugden Avenue now operational and the lights at Clift Crescent to be switched on by the end of the month.
Transport Canberra and City Services said minor asphalting and landscaping works would now be carried out on the old carriageway to bring it up to the same standard as the new lanes.
The upgrades are taking place on the existing northbound and southbound lanes of Ashley Drive, between Johnson Drive and Isabella Drive, from 6am and 6pm until Tuesday.
Traffic flow will be restricted and lanes closed at stages during the works, with drivers warned to expect minor delays and reminded to adhere to the work zone speed limits of 40 km/h.
Both duplicated southbound lanes will be opened following the completion of these works, while further maintenance on the existing northbound lanes will take place in the coming weeks.
