They began considering their verdict for the charge of murder at about 10.30am on Wednesday, notching up about 15-and-a-half hours worth of discussion by Friday afternoon.

Mr Eastman, 73, has pleaded not guilty to shooting Canberra police chief Colin Winchester dead on January 10, 1989.

The jury has sent several notes to the court since the judge sent them to begin deliberating on Wednesday,  asking for various pieces of material from the trial.

At about 12.30pm Friday, the court reconvened to provide the jury with transcripts of evidence from Denis Reid, his son Peter Reid, and his wife Annette, whose evidence the trial heard in July.

Denis Reid gave evidence that a man he said was Mr Eastman had come into his Queanbeyan sports store to sell him a Ruger 10/22 shortly before the alleged murder of Mr Winchester.

On Thursday, the jury asked for transcripts including of the evidence of Louis Klarenbeek, his wife Joanna, and former postal worker Raymond Webb, who the court also heard from in July.

Mr Klarenbeek is said to have sold the Ruger 10/22 prosecutors say was used to kill Mr Winchester.

He failed to identify the buyer when shown a photo board by police.

But the trial heard that Mrs Klarenbeek later told police that after the officers had left, Mr Klarenbeek told her he saw "either that man or his double".

Mr Webb was a witness who allegedly saw Mr Eastman at the Klarenbeek home, though that is disputed by the defence and Mr Eastman denies going there.

On Wednesday, the jurors requested transcripts and copies of agreed statements of facts tendered earlier in the trial relating to the evidence of a man who had advertised a gun for sale in Sydney's Sutherland Shire.

Prosecutors allege Mr Eastman had tried to buy the Sydney man's gun.

The men and women of the jury return to continue deliberations Monday.
