Emergency crews battling Fyshwick grass fire

Emergency crews are currently responding to a grass fire in Fyshwick that started on Saturday afternoon.

ACT fire and rescue crews as well as officers from the ACT Rural Fire Service are at the scene of the fire on Mildura Street, which has burned an area 100 metres by 50 metres.

The bushfire warning level for the blaze has been set at 'advice'.

Large plumes of smoke can be seen from the nearby Majura Parkway.

A spokesman for the ACT Emergency Services Agency said eight units are currently at the scene of the blaze.

The spokesman said that despite the fire, there is little to no risk for nearby property.
