It is timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary year of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and features panellists including retired High Court justice Michael Kirby and comedian Jordan Raskopoulos.
The discussion will be recorded in front of a live audience and broadcast later on the ABC Radio National Big Ideas program. Big Ideas presenter Cathy Van Extel will moderate the discussion.
The event is 6pm to 7.30pm on Friday in the museum's Vision Theatre. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 concession and $7.50 friends.
