GG's, Canberra's "socially sustainable florist", has been an order- by-phone-or-online business until now but with the pop-up, collective nature of Shop Wanniassa, has been able to place its products instore including its hampers and popular rainbow roses. The florist aims to provide people with disabilities with meaningful employment opportunities.

Wanniassa Shopfront only opened last Saturday but spokeswoman Fiona Lester said it had already been more than warmly received by the community.

"We have been overwhelmed with the support and positive feedback from the community, and the success of Shop Wanniassa during the past week has far exceeded all of our expectations," Fiona said.

"Working with such an incredibly talented and fun group of women has made this steep learning curve a super fun ride.

"Thank you to the community for the many words of encouragement and support. We would love to stay, and if the past 5 days is anything to go by we WILL be here forever!"

The business is a collective of mums who run their own businesses at home but have ventured into bricks-and-mortar, open seven days a week at least until christmas.

Amy Acheson from Mamma Fox a children's clothing and accessories label;
Sarah Higginbotham of Ella Lara Designs which sells hair accessories;
Neda Luketic of Z and Co baby clothing;
Frankie JoJo who sells handmade jewellery, accessories and scarves under Bamikbam Design;
Laura Ahearn from The Candle Maker;
What I Made by Gemmie Alliston which includes soft toys, blankets and quilts;
Two Little Gates baby wear by Hayley Croft;
Rebecca Turpie from Love and Charm Designs specialising in home decor pints, milestone cards and party products.
