On October 27 Capital Brewing are hosting a free Grilled & Chilled Festival with live music, barbecued delicacies from around the world and an impressive line-up of craft beers.
Capital’s head brewer Wade Hurley has handpicked four of Sydney’s most awarded and most exciting independent craft breweries to join the line up.
Wayward Brewing Co, Batch Brewing Co, The Grifter Brewing Co, and Modus Operandi will all bring specialty brews for the festival along with award-winning brews from their core range. The solid line-up of Sydney breweries has seen Grilled & Chilled tagged as the first-ever satellite event of Sydney Beer Week which runs from October 26 to November 4.
Citizen Kay headlines the impressive music line-up, with ARIA nominations under his belt for best urban album and best independent hip hop Album, the Ghana-born artist is sure to bring the party.
Joining him is a stellar line-up including Brass Knuckle Brass Band, Jedbrii, Kirklandd, The Postmasters, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Amends, Neko Pink, Genie, and Rachel Maria Cox.
“We’re looking forward to one hell of a party,” Hurley says.
“What’s better than enjoying incredible food while listening to great live-music and washing it all down with some of the tastiest and innovative brews in the country?”
Capital’s managing director, Laurence Kain, said the day provided the opportunity to showcase lively independent brews, music and global food.
“Everyone on the line-up is absolutely passionate about what they do,” Kain says.
“They do it for themselves, and to please others. You’re going to taste and feel that with every sip, sound and bite, and we can’t wait to share that with you.”
Food wise, low and slow American barbecue specialists Regulators BBQ will smoke up a storm all night before the event to craft their signature ribs, brisket and pulled pork. Mr Papa will bring their traditional full-flavoured Peruvian street food. Mahcan Berra will serve up their mouth-watering Sri Lankan BBQ with knife-wielding flare. And it wouldn’t be a Capital event without the perpetual Tap Room favourite Brodburger slinging the best burgers in the country.
