The stunning lashes of both Kardashian-West and Piggy have inspired Canberra makeup artist Zoe Krahe to launch her own eyelash line, Zed Lashes.
The falsies are made of ethically-sourced mink and dyed with carbon black ink, “meaning you can ditch the mascara,” Krahe says. She glues between 20 and 30 sets of lashes a week, including for clients like model Brianna Lee Pike, musician Katie Noonan and fashion designer and stylist Breanna Mules.
She's in hot demand this Saturday as the women of Canberra go uber glam for the annual Luton charity ball.
The popular Instagrammer’s lash line includes the lightly feathered Zoe and Zara styles through to the much fuller Sahara.
But are lashes really that important when it comes to a made-up face?
“Of course,” Zoe says.
“I'm happy to create a flawless base with no eyeshadows or eyeliner, as long as I can team the look with lashes."
Each set of lashes took the former Hawker College student - who studied makeup artistry in workshops in Dubai and Hawaii - four weeks to design, prototype and, in some cases, redesign.
“I wanted to have a diverse, yet small lash line," Krahe says.
“Each style had inspirations drawn from mood boards, so there's a style for every occasion.
"I spent at least a month working on each individual lash style, sketching, getting samples, trialing those samples, adjusting sketches accordingly and repeating the process over and over until I was 100 per cent happy with the final result.”

Applying your lashes: you're doing it wrong
It’s all about shape
“Women can struggle to choose suitable lashes for their eye shape,” Krahe says. “When there’s a huge range to choose from, it can be quite daunting. Spend some time exploring different looks - Zed Lashes are flexible, but strong enough to use multiple times, meaning you can get a sense of what they look like before committing them to your look."
Don’t be scissor happy
"I also find people tend to cut incorrect amounts off the bands of lashes," Krahe says. "When you cut too much off, they actually look much more artificial. It's best to leave them as long as possible, while making sure they're still comfortable."
Go easy on the mascara
"Too much mascara can also leave lashes looking clumpy. Our lashes are dyed with carbon black ink meaning you can ditch the mascara altogether."
