Christopher Millington, 29, appeared before ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with breaching bail conditions for a previous offence, where he was barred from drinking alcohol.

Court documents show ACT police were called to a disturbance outside PJ O'Reilly's in Greenway just after 3am.

According to police, Millington was seen outside the venue antagonising other people in the car park and swearing at the them, smelling strongly of alcohol.

After a police check, Millington was taken in custody, with prosecutors describing the conduct as concerning.

Prosecutors opposed bail due to the likelihood of Millington reoffending.

The court was told the defendant has a "problem with alcohol" but was taking steps to manage the problem.

Magistrate Glenn Theakston released the man on bail, despite saying he also had concerns of reoffending and had "little faith the defendant would comply with drug and alcohol" bail conditions.

A curfew between 9pm and 6am was also been imposed in addition to previous conditions for bail.

The case will resume on October 31.
