Police have charged a man they say is a former bikie gang member over a 2017 shooting and arson attack next door to a childcare centre.

Cameron Sharp, 21, faced court on Tuesday charged with discharging a firearm endangering life, arson and unauthorised possession/use of a firearm.
The charges stem from an incident at a house on Ellerston Avenue, in Isabella Plains, just after 11pm on March 10 last year.
Police allege several shots were fired at the house, which they say is the home of an outlaw motorcycle gang member, breaking a window.
They allege that the 21-year-old also set a white Suzuki Swift on fire.
No one was injured in the incident, which happened next door to the Little Smiles Early Learning Centre.
Mr Sharp, who is in custody, did not enter pleas.
His case will return to court on October 8.
ACT chief police officer Justine Saunders said the charges should serve as a warning to young people that if they joined an outlaw motorcycle gang, they would be tasked with committing crimes and then distanced from the gang.
"Once again, it does highlight [that] young people should not be getting involved in OMCG [outlaw motorcycle gang] activity, because you will get caught up with criminal activity and you will be charged," Assistant Commissioner Saunders said.
She said police had not discounted the possibility that others were involved in the alleged attack.
Assistant Commissioner Saunders expressed concern at the proximity of the alleged attack to a childcare centre, and said the person who lived at the targeted home was an outlaw motorcycle gang member.
"That's been the gravest concern for me for some time; that it's possible, in fact increasingly so, that someone innocent in our community will get caught up with this gang-related activity."
Assistant Commissioner Saunders, who leaves her role as chief police officer next month, said she would encourage her successor to continue lobbying the ACT government to introduce anti-consorting laws.
Detective Superintendent Scott Moller said Taskforce Nemesis, ACT Policing's bikie-busting unit, would continue to investigate historical incidents.
"You could be tapped on the shoulder at any time and we’ll act on any new information received from the public,” he said.
“I also warn anybody, particularly young men, who are considering joining these criminal gangs that you will be used by the gangs to perform the most violent crimes, but abandoned by them when caught.”
