ACT Emergency Services said the 42 year old had been driving alone in Brindabella National Park when he crashed near Two Sticks Road, just north of the NSW border.
A passer-by found him and called Emergency Triple Zero just after midday.
It took more than two hours for ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire and Rescue crews to reach the man, who had suffered a broken leg.
ACT Fire and Rescue had to abandon their remote area 4WDs and walk, with intensive care paramedics, 30 minutes to the crash site.
Firefighters trained in vertical rescue pulled the patient to safety.
He was taken to the Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
