A four-bedroom house in Stirling has broken the suburb record and sold for more than $1 million dollars, making it the first in the suburb.

The five-year-old property at 12 Barlee Place sold for $1.08 million on Tuesday.
According to Domain data, the suburb record prior to this sale was $970,000.
Edge Real Estate agent Steven Thomas said the sale reflected the market movement for new houses in older suburbs.
He said a lot of homes in the Weston Creek area were built after the 2003 bushfires, however, this property was knocked down about six years ago and rebuilt.
Mr Thomas said a retired couple had bought the property.
"There are a lot of new houses in older suburbs, it’s not uncommon," Mr Thomas said.
"But what was different about this particular home was that we really emphasised that it literally had no steps to the house in any of the entrances and exits.
"So that opened it up to a larger demographic and it proved to be positive because the people that bought it were retirees looking for their forever home."
The median house price in the suburb is $623,000. The last sale of the suburb was earlier last month for $750,000.
Today, million dollar sales are a regular occurrence in Canberra and almost every suburb has at least one. Eleven suburbs have a median house price of $1 million.
