In a statement on Friday, ACT Policing said it arrested the teenager after executing a search warrant at a property in Garran about 6.30am.
The warrant was issued in relation to an alleged burglary and fire at Woden Athletics Park on Monday night, which gutted a storage shed containing equipment used by five athletics clubs.
The juvenile faced the ACT Children's Court on Thursday where he was charged with burglary.
The court heard he was now facing seven series of offences, and in order to be granted bail had to show special and exceptional circumstances.
The teenager did not apply for bail, and Magistrate Robert Cook remanded him in custody after noting there were no special or exceptional circumstances before the court.
The alleged arson attacked destroyed dozens of items of athletics equipment, forcing Athletics ACT to cancel Saturday's meet at Woden Athletics Park.
Woden Little Athletics Club is planning to go ahead with its season opener on Saturday, after clubs from across the territory offered to donate and share equipment.
