Home side will always kick with the wind

If I were the Opposition, I wouldnt be wasting too much time railing against the supposed unfairness of the Speakers setting an inconvenient date for the five by-elections necessitated by the latest round of political resignations forced by Section 44 of the Constitution. Setting election dates including by-election dates is one of the advantages of incumbency in the Australian Westminster system, and Australian political history has never shown parties on either side to consult anything but their own convenience in doing so.
