A man's body has washed up on a Mid North Coast beach after a boat capsized about 200 metres offshore.

Emergency services were called to Campbells Beach, north of Coffs Harbour, about 11.15am on Friday.
They found the deceased man, believed to have been in his 80s.

It is not clear if there were others on the boat when it capsized.
Marine Rescue, Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter and Surf Life Saving are conducting a search of the area.
The vessel will be forensically examined as part of an investigation by police from Coffs-Clarence Police District.
