An alleged gun-wielding carjacker has been charged with a string of offences after being tracked by the police helicopter and arrested by officers following an alleged crime spree in Brisbane overnight.

Police said officers were called to a unit complex in Kedron, on Brisbane's northside, after reports a man armed with a gun had followed people into the underground carpark and threatened them.
It will be alleged the man twice demanded the victims give him the keys to their car just before 9pm, but they refused and the man fled.
It will also be alleged the same armed man threatened a separate group of people in another car on Lambert Street in Kangaroo Point at about 9.50pm and managed to steal their vehicle.
Polair tracked the vehicle to a Moyston Street residence in Carseldine, also on Brisbane's northside, where the man allegedly fled on foot to a nearby property in Yaldara Street.
As officers arrived, it will also be alleged the man smashed through a window into a house but was arrested soon after. No one was injured during this incident.
A 29-year-old Northgate man has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, entering premises, possessing dangerous drugs, and entering a dwelling with intent and stealing.
He was due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Monday.
