A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics had treated two patients, one with a minor injury and one with a head injury, after the crash.
Both patients were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, one in a serious condition.
Australian Traffic Network reporter Ben Mihan said the crash involved a pedestrian being hit by a car, followed by two other cars colliding.
The westbound lane is closed near the Big Pineapple while traffic is filtered through and emergency services attend.
Delays were building east and west along the Nambour Connection Road for about two kilometres.
