The man has been captured by several different cameras near Woodridge train station about the same time a triple-zero call was made reporting the discovery of 40-year-old Megan Kirley's body.

She was found dead at a semi-rural home on Wembley Road in the southern Brisbane suburb of Karawatha after police received a triple-zero call about 3.15am last Saturday, February 9.

Despite neighbours hearing what they believed were gunshots last Friday night, the triple-zero call was not made until several hours later during last Saturday morning.

Detectives spent almost four hours at the Karawatha property on Friday night shooting various guns and conducting tests on the sounds they made.

On Saturday, police released footage of a cyclist investigators want to identify and speak to.

He can be seen in security camera footage wearing an orange high-vis shirt, shorts and cream-coloured work boots, and had a small bag swung over his shoulder.

He was spotted riding near Woodridge train station at 3.14am last Saturday, moments before the triple-zero call reporting Ms Kirley's body.

Ms Kirley suffered a single gunshot wound to her head and was found by the man she lived at the home with, 37-year-old Pieter Pickering.

He was believed to have been in a relationship with the victim for the past six months, who was staying with him at the time of her death.

Mr Pickering was questioned by detectives last weekend, but was later released without charge.

Mr Pickering described his partner as kind, strong and compassionate person.

"She had a very open heart and would help anyone in need without hesitation and more often than not at her own expense," he said.

"We had spoken and both agreed we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together so much so I had bought a ring and was planning to ask her to marry me on Valentine's Day."

Ms Kirley's friend April Ehlers said earlier this week she was bothered there had been no arrests.

"This beautiful ... and intelligent woman who was so strong and so against violence who had to fight her entire life, how (did) she come to such a violent and horrific ending all alone?" she said.

"She didn't have enemies, she was a good, gentle person.

"Whoever did this is still walking free."

Detectives have reviewed all available CCTV footage from the area on the night in question.

They continue to appeal for motorists travelling along Wembley Road between 2.45am and 3.20am on February 9 to contact them, in the hope they can use elimination to identify vehicles of interest.

The Karawatha property remained a crime scene on Saturday after scientific and scenes of crimes officers as well as SES volunteers spent all week searching for evidence and examining the scene.
