A driver has crashed through a guard rail and burst into flames on a major road in north Queensland.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Bohle Plains in Townsville shortly before 4.30pm following reports of a single-vehicle car crash on Friday.
Paramedics assessed a man with life-threatening injuries but did not require transportation.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said firefighters were working towards extinguishing the car.
"They are also extinguishing a bushfire that has spread as a result of the crash," she said.
Australian Traffic Network spokesman Ben Mihan said the car on fire had led to a road closure on Dalrymple Road, just after the Shore Road overpass and diversions were in place.
