An emergency declaration put in place for almost three hours in south-west Queensland over a potential toxic substance at a water treatment plant in the Maranoa region has been lifted.

A patient was taken to Roma Hospital following the toxic chemical scare.
Police said emergency services responded to reports two incompatible chemicals had been mixed near the reservoir at Wallumbilla, about 40 kilometres from Roma, about 1pm on Wednesday.
A declaration was made under the Public Safety and Preservation Act at 1.45pm and the boundaries of Burke Street, Russell Street and the western end of High Street were closed.
A south-west fire communications spokeswoman said the situation was under control and was in the hands of Maranoa Regional Council after crews left the scene just before 6pm.
"The area was made safe after (QFES) had performed their duties," she said.
"The scientific unit tested the area and some equipment was also tested. The chemicals were serum uric acid and chlorine, which were mixed in the water treatment plant.
"The area was decontaminated and there was no need for the exclusion zone."
