An unpredictable fire has caused Queensland Fire and Emergency Services to spark a 'prepare to leave' warning and an evacuation centre to open in central Queensland.

An evacuation centre is open at the Miriam Vale Community Hall at 41 Blomfield Street after an alert on Friday to warn residents at Captain Creek to 'watch and act'.
A QFES spokesman said conditions were worsening with the bushfire in Captain Creek.
"You need to be ready to follow your bushfire survival plan," he said.
"If you do not have a plan, or intend to leave, you should be ready to leave the area because the situation could get worse quickly."
The spokesman said the unpredictable fire continued to travel slowly in a south-easterly direction towards Captain Creek and could impact Murphy Road, west of Avocado Crescent.
"Fire crews conducted backburning operations in the area overnight," he said.
"Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service crews are working on the eastern side of The Eurimbula National Park, along Lawsons Track, and national parks in the area remain closed."
Police are continue patrols in the Captain Creek area while fire breaks to protect houses on the southern side of Murphy Road and along Avocado Crescent were in place.
The warning follows after a man was killed after trying to clear a fire break on his family's property at Rolleston when the tree fell on him.
